About Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU)

Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU), located in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India, is a premier National Law University established by the Government of Tamil Nadu through an Act of the State Legislature in 2012. With a built-up area of over 25 acres, TNNLU aims to provide world-class education in law and has become a leader in the legal field.

TNNLU ADR Culture

The importance of ADR mechanisms cannot be overstated, and TNNLU recognizes the transformative potential of ADR in the field of legal dispute resolution. To this end, the university fosters a culture of ADR through dedicated courses, workshops, competitions, and research initiatives focused on the practice and principles of mediation, arbitration, and negotiation.

One of the key initiatives in this area is the TNNLU National Med-Arb Competition (NMAC), which has been successfully conducted over the past six years. The event brings together students from prestigious law schools across India to showcase their skills in both mediation and arbitration. Themes from previous editions have covered diverse areas such as medical negligence, insurance, corporate disputes, and joint development agreements.

Through ADRC's efforts, students are not only equipped with theoretical knowledge but also gain practical experience in resolving disputes outside traditional courtroom settings.
